Amazing 2D optical illusion Café in Seoul, South Korea, which makes customers feel as though they’ve crossed dimensions into a comic book illustration!

This small, but cosy café, opened in July 2017 and located in a famous Yeonnam-dong district is called Cafe Yeonnam-dong 239-20 which is actually cafe’s address.

The incredible space features black and white comic-strip furniture, walls, and floors.

The artistic design was inspired by Korea’s hit TV show, W by Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo, in which the characters clash between “two worlds”—the real world and a fantasy world inside a webtoon.
The design of Cafe Yeonnam-dong 239-20 creates an amazing 2D optical illusion, which makes customers feel as though they’ve crossed dimensions into a comic book illustration.

“There are a lot of foreign visitors in our cafe as well,” JS Lee continued. “We never expected that since we didn’t advertise its opening at all.”

“Famous bloggers, Facebook stars, magazines and TV programs all talked about us,” JS Lee remembered. “Then we became famous very naturally.” The plan now is to start a franchise in South Korea, JS Lee explained, and then look to the rest of the world as well.
