You might have seen recently on our Instagram page, @jeplus1 that we have been extremely busy with our DFS store refits. These refits will be going on until late December this year, so plenty more work ahead!

Our refits were based on our newest stores, Barnstaple and Galway, which were an evolution from the Edinburgh concept.

Take a look at a Before and After of one of our most recently completed refit stores! ->

We worked closely with DFS to create specific mood boards for each cluster. These were simplified in to Classic, Modern and Traditional.

The traditional room sets have wall panelling and fabric screens.

Modern room sets were given bold paint colours to go with the minimal designs and metal frames.

The Classic bays are where you will find House Beautiful - think warmer colours and more timber to go with the cosy design.

One of the main additions that we have added to these refit stores are metal frames.

Taking inspiration from the Barnstaple and Galway stores, we wanted to introduce these into the refit stores as well.
The metal frames are completely flexible in terms of being able to change graphics for the different brands instore.

Another use for the frames are using them as light boxes. And of course, they’re a brilliant way of showcasing the accessories and plants.

For the refit store concept, we also wanted to introduce new on trend accessories for each room set. We worked closely with DFS to create mood boards and to choose new accessories to bring the store more up date.
With the growing popularity of indoor plants within the home, especially living rooms, it was a no brainer to add these into the new concept.

The plants really bring the room sets to life through their vibrant colours and shapes, perfect for imagining what the furniture will look like in a real home environment.
Gorgeous new art, lamps, coffee tables and rugs were also sourced and added to the refit’s to really bring the store alive!

We also introduced panelling for the first time in the stores.

The stunning blue panelling can be found in the traditional design room sets, with the gorgeous stand alone portrait of a woman. The two combined really make these room sets feel like a grand living room or a cosy study.

Brining in fresh paint colours was also a big part of revamping the refit stores. We needed to keep the colours flexible so that they would adjust to different sofa designs, yet they needed to be bright, welcoming and on trend

To bring the stores up to date, we were on the lookout for new wallpaper designs. You will see in the refit and new stores that we have added a new brick wallpaper addition.

This particular wallpaper can be found in the French Connection room set, along with some of the more modern style rooms, due to it being an on trend look for scandinavian style living rooms.

Existing feature elements such as fireplaces that were situated in some of the previous room sets were kept and revamped to suit the new room designs, since they worked so well within their particular rooms and all they needed was a fresh lick of paint to look brand new again!
