1. The Ivy, Temple Row

The Ivy finally opened its doors today, and with what is said to be the most eagerly anticipated restaurant opening in Birmingham this year, we couldn’t wait to pay it a visit!

The new luxurious 155 cover restaurant spanning over 3 floors is located on Temple Row, in the building which was formerly occupied by Louis Vuitton. The signature green colour palette that we all know and love is complimented with plush leather banquette seating, polished marble floors, hints of brass and bold artwork to give a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience. Their menus feature a wide selection of modern British classics and internationally inspired dishes, as well as light and healthy brunch options, afternoon teas and an extensive cocktail menu. The Archer Room on the first floor, named after Thomas Archer who designed St Philip's Cathedral – offers a private dining experience with views overlooking the Cathedral. The walls of The Archer Room are decorated with colourful vintage prints and locally referenced artwork inspired by the industrial revolution. The dark timber flooring, pendant lighting, dark green leather upholstery and Art Deco-style add drama, and glamour to the space.

We love… everything?!

2. Revolution de Cuba, Temple Street

Number 8 Temple Street couldn’t be any further from its previous inhabitants being a Law Society, with the new authentic Cuban themed bar and restaurant Revolution de Cuba bringing colour and Latin inspired flavours to the streets of Birmingham!

On the ground floor the cantina is light and airy, with the large oar-sized fans swirling round the ceiling making you instantly feel like you are in a different country. The Havana Rum bar upstairs gives you the chance to let your hair down, dancing, drinking and dining until late if you’re ready to fiesta into the early hours of the morning! The mood upstairs is a complete contrast with dark walls and timber surrounding plush velvet booths in vibrant mustard. Artwork, shelving and feature pendants give the whole floor exclusivity, making you feel relaxed and ar

3. Dirty Martini, Bennetts Hill

The former Viva Brazil restaurant site is set to become specialist cocktail house Dirty Martini, which will be their 11th branch to open in the UK. Their motto is ‘spirited sophistication’, serving handcrafted cocktails and offering ‘sophisticated interiors with a spirited atmosphere that makes for an unforgettable night’. The bar will have a capacity of 330 over two floors, with an upper mezzanine. There will also be a variety of large booths, banquettes and spaces for private parties. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the bar will be open till 2.30am with a DJ at weekends. The use of rich colours, hints of neon, brass, and cocktails to die for surely mean we won’t be left disappointed!

We love… that it opens this month on the 21st April!
